Philippines FAQ
Philippines virtual card questions, answered straight
We say it plainly: ChatGPT.com already takes GCash. Use a virtual card for the card-only corners — Claude, ad dashboards, US Apple ID, overseas payouts. This site only covers the card side.
Quick read
- ChatGPT.com already accepts GCash for Go, Plus, and Pro in the Philippines — try that first.
- GCash still cannot fill a card form on Claude, many ads dashboards, or a US Apple ID.
- MP Card is a virtual card you enable inside the MP App after funding the MP Wallet with USDC or USDT.
- Fees and limits are shown live in the app and on help.mp.net — this site does not quote rates.
- This site is not a BSP-supervised e-wallet or a Philippine bank.
Start here: what this site is
Is this site the card issuer?
No. This is a regional guide. The account and card live in MPChat / MP Card. Official steps and limits are in the app and on help.mp.net.
Do I need to sign up on this site?
No. There is no login here. All account actions happen in the MP App.
Is MP Card a BSP-supervised e-wallet or a Philippine bank?
No. Do not treat it as one. For local wallets and bank accounts, use GCash, Maya, or your bank. MP Card is a separate card product managed in the MP App.
ChatGPT and GCash in the Philippines
Can I pay for ChatGPT with GCash?
Yes. OpenAI Help lists GCash as a supported method for ChatGPT Go, Plus, and Pro on chatgpt.com in the Philippines (checked 2026). Try that before anything else.
Does Maya work for ChatGPT.com?
Maya is not listed as a separate ChatGPT.com method. Use GCash for the local rail.
Then why would I need a virtual card for ChatGPT?
Only if you want one card number that also works elsewhere — for example, the same card for Claude, ads, or a US Apple ID. GCash-as-a-method is not the same as typing a GCash virtual card number into a card form.
Is a virtual card the only way to pay ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT already has a local rail (GCash). A virtual card is for the card-only checkouts it does not cover.
Claude and card-only checkouts
Can I pay for Claude with GCash?
Claude web checkout remains card-only. GCash cannot fill that card form. A virtual card is the practical workaround for Filipino users.
Why do my Maya or GCash virtual cards get declined on Claude?
Many foreign subscription checkouts block prepaid BINs. Maya and GCash virtual/prepaid cards are often declined for that reason. MP Card is a separate virtual card product — check its acceptance in the app before relying on it.
My Philippine-issued debit card has international use on — why does it still fail?
Online or international use is frequently off until you enable it, and 3DS OTP timeouts are common. A peso card can also be treated as a cross-border charge. Retry after enabling, or use a card built for online subscriptions.
Ads accounts: Meta, Google, TikTok
Can I use GCash or my BDO card for Meta ads?
You can try, but many ad dashboards do not accept GCash directly, and founder cards get tangled with personal spending. A dedicated virtual card keeps ad spend separate.
What is the advantage of a virtual card for ads?
You can freeze the card, set spending limits, and get instant transaction alerts in the MP App — useful when an ad account is paused or a campaign ends.
Will a virtual card guarantee my ad account gets approved?
No. Ad account approval depends on the platform. A card only handles payment. We do not promise approval.
US Apple ID and app store billing
Can I use GCash or Maya to set up a US Apple ID payment method?
Usually not. GCash and Maya typically cannot set a US billing card on a US Apple ID. A virtual card with a card form is the usual path.
Do I need to spoof a US billing address?
No. We do not tell people to spoof a US billing address. Use your real details where the platform allows.
What about Netflix and other subscriptions?
Same idea: if the checkout is card-only and your local wallet is not listed, a virtual card is the workaround. Check the app for current card acceptance.
Freelancers: tools vs. payouts
Can I receive Upwork payouts on a virtual card?
This site only covers the card side. For Upwork-style overseas payouts, check Upwork's own withdrawal options and your bank or wallet. MP Card is for spending on tools and subscriptions, not a payout rail we document here.
So what should I use the card for as a freelancer?
Software subscriptions, ads tests, domain and hosting, and app store purchases that need a card. Keep client payouts on the rails your clients and platforms support.
Can I use the card to cash out?
No. The card is for legal spending, subscriptions, and ad top-ups. Cashing out is not allowed.
Fees, limits, and verification
How much does MP Card cost?
Fees are shown live in the MP App. This site does not quote rates or opening amounts. Check the app and help.mp.net for current details.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Yes, complete identity verification in the app. We cannot process verification for you and do not promise approval times. There is no 'no KYC' option.
How long does it take to get the card?
Download and registration are usually quick. Verification and activation depend on your documents. We do not say 'instant approval' or 'guaranteed approval'.
Can I freeze the card or set limits?
Yes. The MP App lets you manage spending limits, freeze the card, and receive instant transaction alerts.
How to get started (official steps)
What are the official steps?
1) Download and register on MPChat. 2) Complete in-app identity verification. 3) Fund the MP Wallet with supported stablecoins (USDC / USDT). 4) Enable MP Card in the app.
Do I need crypto first?
Yes. The official path is to fund the MP Wallet with USDC or USDT, then enable the card. At spending time, supported crypto assets convert to local currency automatically.
Where can I learn more?
See mp.net/card and help.mp.net. The app shows live fees and limits.
